General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Performing quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
- Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
- Inspect all plant equipment and pipework within the Plant, Utilities and Off plots areas to provide quality assurance and quality control of all ongoing plant painting and insulation programmes as well as other non-metallic materials such as insulation / cladding, refractories and fireproofing materials.
- Perform comprehensive plant surveys in order to review preventative programmes with particular regard to susceptible areas, associated with durability, integrity and protection provided by paintings, insulation, refractories and fireproofing.
- Assess the integrity of coatings, insulation, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and performing inspection of Painting discipline
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
- Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
- Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
- Carry out QC Supervisor鈥檚 responsibility in his/her absence.
- Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
- Review and track material submittals required for Painting Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Painting Definable Features of Work.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
- Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
- Monitor weather condition for surface preparation and painting / coating application.
- Inspect and assess the condition of protective coatings applied to Plant and equipment at the required frequency.
- Assure conformity with the Company鈥檚 technical coating specifications and codes of Plant Inspection, and compile written reports on findings along with recommendations.
- Prepare and perform corrosion surveys in regard to ongoing painting programmes and maintain comprehensive records.
