The PLC Programmer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems to ensure reliable automation processes in production and support digitalization initiatives. As a central position within Industrial Engineering, this role also sets global standards for PLC programming and maintains specifications for all plants and suppliers
- Design, program, and implement PLC systems for production equipment and automation projects.
- Modify and optimize existing PLC programs to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve PLC-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and cybersecurity requirements in automation systems.
- Document all programming changes and maintain version control.
- Support commissioning and start-up of new equipment and systems.
- Define and maintain global PLC standards and specifications for all plants and suppliers.
- Act as a reference point for best practices and compliance in automation and digitalization projects.
