The Duty Engineer ensures the efficient operation, safety, and maintenance of all hotel engineering systems. The role responds to technical issues and emergencies, carries out preventive maintenance, and coordinates with other departments to support smooth hotel operations and guest comfort.
Key Responsibilities โ Duty Engineer
Ensures the smooth and continuous operation of all hotel engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and building services.
Responds promptly to maintenance requests, technical issues, and emergencies to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest comfort.
Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance according to schedules and engineering standards.
Monitors equipment performance and reports faults, defects, or safety hazards to the Chief Engineer.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations, fire life safety standards, and statutory requirements.
Supervises contractors and external service providers during repair and maintenance works.
Maintains accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and shift handover reports.
Coordinates closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to support daily operations.
Ensures proper use, care, and storage of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Acts as the engineering point of contact during assigned shifts and assumes responsibility in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
