Your Role in the Story
The Cashier plays a hands-on role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant transaction processing across Food & Beverage outlets, bars, beach clubs, spas, retail points, and special events. This position is responsible for the direct operation and control of POS systems during assigned shifts, maintaining transaction accuracy, safeguarding revenue, and supporting a seamless guest experience. The Cashier works in close coordination with operational teams and follows established SOPs, financial controls, and system procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems hands-on throughout the shift, ensuring accurate entry of items, prices, modifiers, taxes, discounts, and payment methods.
- Maintain full responsibility for assigned POS login, cash float, and transaction activity during each shift.
- Process guest transactions accurately, including cash, credit cards, room charges, vouchers, and digital payment methods.
- Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing POS procedures, including system checks, cash float verification, cash-ups, and end-of-day reconciliations.
- Ensure all transactions are posted in real time and in accordance with approved menus, pricing, and SOPs.
- Apply voids, refunds, discounts, and complimentary items strictly according to authorization procedures and system controls.
- Identify, report, and escalate any POS system issues, discrepancies, or irregularities immediately to the Cashier Manager.
- Follow all cashiering SOPs, internal controls, and audit requirements to prevent errors, losses, or revenue leakage.
- Coordinate closely with F&B service teams, kitchen, bar, spa, and supervisors to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Provide professional, friendly, and efficient service to guests, supporting a high-quality hospitality experience.
- Ensure cashier stations, POS terminals, and surrounding areas are clean, organized, secure, and operational at all times.
- Support peak operational periods, high-volume service, promotions, events, and seasonal demands.
- Comply with hotel policies, health and safety standards, data protection rules, and Greek fiscal regulations.
