Restaurant Manager, Hawthorn Restaurant & Bar
As Restaurant Manager of Hawthorn Restaurant & Bar in the iconic Fairmont Palliser Hotel, you are responsible for working alongside other Managers and the General Manager in the revitalization of this renovated space by curating a superior guest & colleague experience. You will bring experience in effective leadership, strategic planning and a thirst for innovation and trend-setting. You are relentless in your pursuit of excellence, and long to leave a lasting impression on every guest who visits your restaurant.
Reporting to Hawthorn General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Accountable for managing the day to day operations of Hawthorn with active presence on the restaurant floor leading your team to deliver service excellence
- Work in supporting the General Manager and Restaurant Chef to execute the smooth and flawless operation of both the Front and Heart of House.
- Work in supporting the General Manager, Restaurant Chef, Head Bartender, and Mixologists to create and maintain all restaurant menus while in keeping with the overall concept
- Constantly drive innovation to redefine the Calgary culinary experience by actively promoting Hawthorn within the community
- Accountable for driving revenue and profit through the development and implementation of strategies, practices and promotions while keeping with the overall concept of the venue
- Actively assist in managing restaurant social media accounts in partnership with the General Manager, Restaurant Chef, and Marketing Team
- Working with the Restaurant Leadership & Marketing Teams, manage online reputation by responding to feedback, comments and/or reviews in a timely and professional manner, addressing any concerns.
- Assist with management of the departmental budget
- Train and lead the team in all aspects of the department to ensure service standards are followed
- Collaborate with other departments to contribute to the overall smooth operation of the hotel
