What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise daily stewarding operations, including dishwashing, pot washing, kitchen cleaning, and waste management
- Ensure all kitchens, restaurants, banquet areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized, and sanitized at all times
- Coordinate stewarding coverage based on business levels and operational needs
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations, WHMIS, and workplace safety standards
- Maintain proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Support food safety standards, including HACCP guidelines
- Conduct regular inspections and follow up on corrective actions
- Lead, train, and motivate the Stewarding team, fostering a positive and respectful work environment
- Ensure new colleagues receive proper onboarding and training
- Monitor performance, provide coaching, and support development of team members
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of dishwashing machines and other stewarding equipment
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed
- Work closely with Culinary, Banquets, and Food & Beverage teams to support smooth operations
- Communicate effectively with leaders to anticipate needs for events, banquets, and high-volume periods
- Other duties as assigned
