The Security Manager ensures that the property is safe for all patrons and employees. This role is responsible for developing and implementing security policies coordinating with law enforcement, conducting regular safety inspections, and managing the security team.
- Oversees Security department.
- Keeps the General Manager informed of all security related matters.
- Liaises with Management personnel and all employees and assist with security problems and loss control.
- Liaises with local law enforcement and Fire & Safety officials as needed.
- Shows fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments
- Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities
- Reviews, revises and updates Security procedures as necessary.
- Responsible for Training Security team in all Hotel regulations and all factors affecting the operations of the hotel. Fire prevention and safety procedures, basic fire fighting, life saving techniques, preservation of crime scene and evidence, actions, duties and powers where crime is detected, action in crisis situations, and report writing.
- Ensures the daily processing in distribution of security reports to leadership team occurs in a consistent manner.
- Prepares incident reports and appropriate security reports to review with the General Manager.
- Keeps all records and report concerning security matters and Hotel business confidential.
- Attends and participates in Safety & Security meetings and others staff meetings.
- Is fully trained and prepared for all emergency situations as per procedures.
- Reviews internal policies & procedures on a regular basis to ensure maintenance of the highest level of efficiency and the best possible security with a high awareness of potential threats, to make recommendations to leadership when policy changes are required.
- In close coordination with the engineering department, to conduct regular preventive maintenance of all safety equipment and rooms departments.
- Strictly controls in and out back-of-the-house of contractors, visitors and suppliers. Visitor passes to be issued and controlled.
- Frequent control and supervision of all security posts, including CCTV room.
- Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the Hotel鈥檚 emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency.
- Establishes and updates the emergency manual, with appropriate procedures and forms.
- In coordination with Director of Engineering, prepares a comprehensive fire & safety manual and to train existing employees and new comers on a regular basis, generic and with live fire drills.
- Initiates Fire Fighting Training in co-ordination with the local authorities (Fire Brigade) on a regular basis for all Hotel departments.
- Coordinates with People & Culture teams to establish necessary property brigades.
- Is familiar with all local regulations and compliance items.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional service
