We are looking for a Special Events & Conference Services Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong, career-focused background in events management. We’re seeking someone who is detail-driven, guest-centric, and naturally creative, with a warm yet confident presence. This role oversees Special Events of varying complexity and requires someone who can balance operational precision with an elevated, personalized client experience.
Contract Type: Permanent
Rate of Pay: $65,000 - $70,000 per year, dependent on experience
Job Duties Include:
- Specifically handle the Special Events market (contracts, responding to inquiries etc.)
- Manage internal and external social events and corporate catering market
- Respond quickly to guest requests in a professional manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction within 24 hours.
- Clearly communicate details of events to client and hotel departments via contracts, banquet event orders (BEO), résumés and internal meetings
- Conduct site inspections with prospective couples and clients, showcasing the hotel
- Ability to close the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional coordination with Banquets, Culinary, Rooms, Sales, and external partners to ensure seamless event execution
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Manages event room blocks and meeting space for assigned events
- Anticipates, addresses, and resolves guest concerns with professionalism and impeccable service.
- Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales & Event Management (OSEM) at all times
- Create floor plans that optimize space and ensure a memorable guest experience
- Strong understanding of event financials, including billing accuracy, deposit schedules, minimum spend requirements, and opportunities to optimize revenue
