This role includes the exciting opportunity provide care in Cleveland Clinic Main Campus’ new Neurological Institute. This new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility is designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke.
In addition to working in the new Neurological Institute, caregivers in this role will have the opportunity to provide patient care in additional areas across Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, including Cardiac, Digestive Disease, Medical-Surgical and more.
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ageswhilemaintainingpatient safety. You will be joining a close-knit, hardworking, and supportive team of caregivers that prioritizes quality patient care.You will also have access to the latest and greatest imaging technology and the best equipment in the area.
A caregiver in this position worksweekends, third shift from 7:00pm-7:30am (Saturday and Sunday).
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Acquireand review patientquestionnaire,chartand data/requisitiontodeterminecontraindicationofMRI examination.
Perform MRI proceduresrequiredper protocol andperformdaily QA.
Educate patientsregardingMRI procedures,equipment,andexams.
Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
Report any malfunctions andobservepotential equipment dysfunctions andreportproblems or calls for service.
Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
Instructandmentornew hires and Radiology students.
Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT)requiredwithin one year of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), orR.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing.
Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standingorbe a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.Note: ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills arerequiredto provide excellent care to patients and families
Ability to function well with minimal or no direct supervision
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
