Interventional Radiology isdedicated to the development and application of imaging to guide minimally invasive techniquesutilizedin diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of conditions.Tradition Hospitalis home to theonly department in all of Cleveland Clinic tohaveall four modalities in one department – interventional, cardiaccath, neuro and vascular.Having all four modalities in one department offers a wide array of learning and growth opportunitiesforInterventional RadiologyTechnologists as your work will always be interesting and broaden your knowledge base. No two cases are the same,asthis team performs many procedures and has mastered being able toswitch gears in a fast-paced setting.Doctors on this teamstay up to date on the newest devices and techniques, so Technologistscantrain in and learn about these innovative techniques and devices.
A caregiver in this position works4 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday,from 7:00AM – 5:30PM,with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform duties involved with various technical procedures to detect pathology.
Perform routine imaging, emergent,invasiveand special procedures.
Improve patient care and workflows by providing support,educationandassistanceto patients and caregivers.
Safelyoperateequipment andmaintainstandards while performing procedures.
Maintaina safe,cleanand economical operation.
Coordinate and answer questionsregardingscheduling, patient information,networkingand informatics.
Document in chart upon completion of procedures.
Complete and send electronic data.
Provide copies of imaging studies.
Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary.
Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)
Florida license asa General Radiographer (RAD)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Neuro experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.
