POSITION OVERVIEW
The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for effectively managing a team of Staff and Senior Accountants and assisting with the full-cycle accounting for Stream Markets. This includes delegating workloads while inspiring, motivating and assisting team members to ensure accurate and timely financials. This role can work remotely out of existing Stream locations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and review monthly close activities across assigned Markets, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of corporate accountants (initially two direct reports).
- Coordinate with Market teams, controllers, and corporate leadership to support accounting needs, resolve issues, and enhance processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Act as a liaison between the Market and SRP Corporate Accounting team.
- Review financial statement packages to ensure accuracy and consistency of report presentation.
- Review accruals, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and other key close deliverables.
- Support implementation and refinement of accounting processes and systems (Workday).
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller to support strategic accounting operations for the Markets.
- Develop and facilitate training for the accountants for real estate specific accounting processes, variance analysis review, budget review, operating expense reconciliation review, and accounting software.
- Research accounting issues, identify possible solutions, and summarize conclusions to present to management.
- Coordinate Market requests on an as needed basis.
