Summary:
The Used Car Salesperson is responsible for driving vehicle sales by delivering a consultative, customer-first buying experience.
This role plays a direct impact on dealership revenue by generating new business, closing profitable deals, and building long-term customer relationships that support repeat and referral sales.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate sales opportunities through personal outreach, referrals, social media engagement, internet leads, and walk-in traffic.
- Greet customers professionally, assess their needs, and recommend appropriate used vehicle options.
- Conduct engaging test drives that demonstrate vehicle features, performance, and overall value.
- Maintain current knowledge of used inventory, pricing, incentives, and market conditions.
- Guide customers through the full sales process including vehicle selection, trade evaluations, and introductory financing discussions.
- Partner with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) team to finalize deals and ensure a smooth closing process.
- Negotiate and close deals while maximizing gross profit and delivering a transparent customer experience.
- Follow up post-sale to ensure satisfaction, generate referrals, and drive repeat business.
