Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products.
- Plans, lay out, fabricate, assembles, install, salvage parts from assemblies and repair rigid and/or flexible tube assemblies, fixtures, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
- Perform various functions by hand and utilizes hand tools to prepare hose for assembly including removing rubber to buff back ends for fittings, connect fittings to hose, apply RTV, and other assembly preparations
- Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment such as swager or crimper.
- Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
- Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, wall thickness, and other specifications. Performs a variety of quality tests per procedures.
- Holds tape and rods and marks reference points to assist in layout.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process.
- Attaches clamps to position work piece to be cut.
- Cleans and blows out dust, particles, and metal shavings from work piece prior to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
