The purpose of this 3-month placement is to assist the Operations team during their busiest period of the year, the summer! As an Operations Controller, students will gain a real understanding of how charter flights are coordinated and managed in real time. This placement is designed to bridge the gap between academic study and professional employment, offering valuable insight into aviation operations and international logistics while supporting the day-to-day delivery of charter flights.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Operations team by assisting brokers with flight watching and live flight monitoring
- Liaising with Flight Reps, Airport Handlers and Operators
- Liaising with brokers to provide operational updates and support
- Providing general administrative support to the Operations team
- Accurately entering and maintaining flight information across internal systems
- Producing and distributing daily operational reports
- Managing and monitoring the shared Operations inbox, ensuring timely responses
- Monitoring weather conditions and flagging potential operational impacts
Summer Programme Details:
- Programme starts in Early/Mid-June through to September (around 12 weeks)
- Working hours are varied and include weekends and nights, shifts will be allocated on a rota basis
- The shift patters are: 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00 (with 1-hour unpaid lunch) on a 3 on 3 off basis
- Training provided on site
- Applicants must be enrolled in a university programme, returning after summer 2026
- Office based role based in our Surbiton HQ
