The CDL Driver/Load Expediter is responsible for safely moving trailers to support cabinet loading operations. This position prepares and stages outbound shipments for common carriers, assists with scheduling and coordinating loads, and performs hands-on loading of cabinets into trailers. The role requires a valid CDL, strong attention to safety, and the ability to perform physical work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. You will be home every night!
Key Accountabilities:
- Safely operate yard truck to move, spot, and position trailers at loading docks to support cabinet loading operations
- Coordinate trailer placement to ensure efficient loading of products
- Gather, stage, and prepare finished cabinet loads for shipment via common carriers
- Verify load accuracy using shipping documents, bills of lading, and packing lists
- Assist with the manual loading of cabinets into trailers, ensuring products are secured to prevent damage during transit
- Perform basic inspections of trailers and equipment prior to movement (e.g., lights, brakes, doors)
- Maintain compliance with DOT, company safety policies, and warehouse procedures
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, shipping coordinators, and management to ensure on-time shipments
- Maintain a clean and organized yard, dock, and loading area
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and shipping operations
Knowledge & Experience:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver鈥檚 License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate tractors, trailers, and yard equipment safely
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, pushing, and pulling cabinets and materials
- Basic knowledge of shipping documentation and loading procedures
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping environment - preferred
- Experience handling cabinet, furniture, or large freight loads - preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb in and out of trailers for the entire shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and outdoor yard environments, including varying temperatures
