Structural Engineering Designer

KPFF Seattle’s Structural Team specializes in the design of buildings that serve and inspire communities. We work on a diverse range of projects, including high-rise towers, office buildings, hospitals, medical centers, parking structures, and higher education facilities. Our engineers bring expertise in a wide variety of structural systems and materials, including steel, concrete, and mass timber. We collaborate closely with architects, developers, and other design professionals to deliver innovative, sustainable, resilient, and efficient structures that support the evolving needs of the built environment.  

Located in downtown Seattle, our Structural Engineering team is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineering Designer. This position will provide the opportunity for you to dive headfirst into real-world projects from day one. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a variety of building project types and materials ; as well as:  

• Gain hands-on experience while learning directly from licensed structural engineers. 
• Perform structural analysis and design  of building components and systems using industry-standard software under supervision. 
• Contribute to the development of 3-D BIM models and construction documents including communicating with project drafters, structural detailing, and multidisciplinary BIM coordination. 
• Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real-world challenges. 
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams. 
• Build expertise in navigating building and material specific codes, , while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices. 
• Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement. 
• Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, our commitment to mentorship, lifelong learning, and career development.
