Validation of Construction Drawings
- Review and validate power supply and traction system drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and international railway standards (EN 50122, EN 50163, IEC 61850).
- Coordinate with design teams and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or technical issues.
- Ensure proper documentation and updates of power supply and distribution system layouts.
Site Supervision
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of power supply and traction 750V DC systems, including:
- 750V DC Traction Power System (Third Rail or Overhead Conductor Rail)
- Traction Power Substations (TPS) and associated Rectifier Units
- Medium Voltage (MV) & Low Voltage (LV) Power Distribution
- DC Switchgear, Protection Relays, and Energy Metering
- Emergency Power Supply Systems (UPS, Generators)
- Earthing, Bonding & Lightning Protection Systems
- Ensure all work is executed according to approved plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with installation quality and system reliability.
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams and resolve on-site power-related challenges.
Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C)
- Supervise the installation and integration of the traction power system with the monorail infrastructure.
- Ensure correct power distribution and energy efficiency in compliance with railway traction requirements.
- Develop and implement testing and validation procedures for substations, power supply systems, and traction equipment.
- Conduct voltage, insulation resistance, load, and performance tests before energization.
- Lead the commissioning phase to ensure the safe and stable operation of power supply and distribution.
Integration & Operational Readiness
- Ensure seamless integration of traction power, substations, and auxiliary power systems with other monorail subsystems (signalling, OCC, SCADA, AFC, PSD).
- Coordinate with train manufacturers, electrical contractors, and system integrators for a smooth energy distribution strategy.
- Optimize power system reliability, redundancy, and regenerative braking compatibility.
- Monitor and evaluate long-term performance, energy efficiency, and maintenance strategies for traction power.
