The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS鈥檚 technology services organization. ITS mission is to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both agencies. ITS creates and enhances the technology infrastructure and computer applications that support HRA and DHS and develops applications, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, case management systems, housing systems, employment/work engagement services, revenue producing computer matches, claiming systems, and personnel systems.
Under the executive direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and operating with latitude for independent initiative, judgment, and decision-making, the ITS Workforce Strategy and Planning Director will lead enterprise-level organizational development efforts, oversee complex analytical projects, and provide strategic consultation on workforce planning, staff optimization, and operational effectiveness.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for one (1) Administrative Staff Analyst (NM) 1, to function as Director, ITS Workforce Strategy and Planner, who will;
- Coordinate with senior leadership on organizational and staffing initiatives of high sensitivity and impact.
- Lead and manage analytical projects to optimize ITS resource allocation, technology operations, and service delivery; direct the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of ITS operational strategies.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Deputy Commissioner, CIO, and Deputy CIO on matters related to IT operational performance, strategic resource planning, and technology service optimization.
- Develop and maintain agency-wide tools, dashboards, and data models to monitor position control, vacancy trends, hiring progress, and organizational performance against benchmarks and liaise with OBA, ACCO, and OTI to align budgetary and contractual planning with ITS workforce needs and ensure sustainable staffing models.
