Division/Program Summary Description:
The Office of Health Insurance Services (OHIS) provides community-facing programs and on-the ground programmatic work that maximize health insurance coverage opportunities and increases access to social support services such as assistance with SNAP applications to address food insecurities for all New Yorkers.
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director for Strategic Programming and Performance Management and indirectly to the Assistant Site Supervisor, you will be assigned to perform a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support the daily operations at the Corona Health Center site.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a receptionist for the Office of Health Insurance Services program and interact with walk-ins and clients referred from community and faith-based organizations; the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA), Human Resource Administration (HRA), Consumer Contact Center, Lead Capture Form, DOHMH Article 28 clinics, Early Intervention Program (EIP), Neighborhood Health Corps., Asylum Seekers, NYC Health and Hospitals (H+H), and other programs.
- Assist with photocopying, scanning and/or faxing documents necessary to complete the health insurance application process.
- Assist immediate supervisor in monitoring case assignment of referrals. Update Excel spreadsheet and data enter outcomes in the DIS TB Unified Electronic Medical Records (UEMR) database.
- Participate in health education outreach activities if and/when deemed necessary and data enter all health literacy encounters.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in customer service.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Bilingual speaking ability.
