The Commissioner鈥檚 Office provides direct executive support to the Commissioner and serves as the central coordinating body for the Agency. The Office advances the Commissioner鈥檚 priorities and tracks communications; strategically manages scheduling and workflow to maximize impact; aligns the work of the Department鈥檚 divisions with areas of focus; and facilitates coordination with City Hall, across Parks and with key partners external stakeholders.
The Project Development Coordinator supports the Commissioner鈥檚 Office by providing executive-level support and outstanding customer service for the day-to-day operations of the Commissioner鈥檚 Office.
Major Responsibilities
- Under general direction, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, provide executive-level support to the NYC Parks Commissioner's Office.
- Assist in managing a complex schedule for the Commissioner, handling frequent re-prioritizations that often require independent decision-making.
- Proactively identify and prioritize situations requiring the Commissioner鈥檚 attention through independent analysis and judgment.
- Coordinate resources and assemble appropriate reference and backup materials for all meetings and events.
- Conduct research and prepare presentations, briefings, analyses and reports.
- Support the Executive Assistant to the Commissioner in advancing schedule requests and priority projects.
- Provide outstanding customer service and administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Commissioner鈥檚 Office, including answering phones and drafting correspondence to constituents.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff and the Executive Assistant to the Commissioner.
