As an Electrical Apprentice at Bekum America, you will be expected to:
- Participate diligently in our structured 4-year apprenticeship program, demonstrating commitment to professional growth and skill development.
- Attend and excel in job-related college-level courses at Lansing Community College, fully funded by Bekum, as part of your technical instruction.
- Fulfill the requirement of 8,000 work hours at Bekum, actively engaging in on-the-job specialized training and development.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist journeyman electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Study electrical theory, blueprint reading, mathematics, electrical code requirements, and safety practices.
- Learn to use a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment essential for electrical work.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability, consistently meeting attendance requirements and deadlines.
- Upon successful completion of the program, obtain your Journeyman's certificate issued by the US Department of Labor.
- Consider pursuing an Associate's Degree through our tuition assistance program to further enhance your qualifications and career prospects.
