Key responsibilities for the Mechanical Machine Build Apprentice include:
- Complete a four-year apprenticeship program, including 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and related technical instruction at Lansing Community College.
- Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and academic performance throughout the program.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the workplace.
- Develop proficiency in reading technical drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and understanding various materials used in machine construction.
- Cultivate problem-solving skills and contribute effectively to team projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and skills acquired.

Successful completion of this program leads to a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's certificate. Bekum encourages apprentices to pursue an Associate's Degree through our tuition assistance program.
