About the roleÂ

AIGâs underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and embody AIGâs tradition of innovation, bringing to market sustainable insurance solutions for our changing world. Â
Based in our Rotterdam office located in the Rivium in Capelle aan den IJssel, you will be part of our team of enthusiastic professionals. You will be responsible for handling new business and reviewing and renewing existing books of business in a portfolio of major global accounts with large exposures. You will be fundamental in creating underwriting excellence and profitability for AIG. Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Manage profitability in your own portfolio by controlling rate adequacy, line size, engineering quality and planning, etc. Â
Negotiating and underwrite profitable new and renewal business according to AIG underwriting guidelines/authorities Â
Ensure accurate and compliant policy documentation and support completion of policy administration Â
connect actively with and involve colleagues in distribution, risk engineering, claims and operationsÂ
Develop engaging positive relationships with clients, brokers and other relevant internal and external stakeholders. Â
Show leadership behavior and exchange vision, knowledge and expertise with internal colleagues and external market partners. Â
Pro-actively participate in training and personal development opportunitiesÂ
ProfileÂ
Significant experience in the insurance industry, preferably in Property underwritingÂ
An appropriate level of education and all necessary WFT- examsÂ
Good communication skills, both written & verbal in Dutch and English language Â
Time management â ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management.Â
Ability to contribute effectively within a team environmentÂ
Stress resistant: able to work in a "busy" environmentÂ
Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude when dealing with external and internal clientsÂ
