Conceive and implement novel experimental approaches to answer scientific questions. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques. Contribute to project science in area of expertise. Develop productive collaborations and communications with other groups across science disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop robust downstream processes for early-stage and late-stage pipeline molecules to support CMC activities for various programs and improve tech transfer workflows. Drive commercial process development for purification within project timelines
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and next-generation platform development, including identification and modeling of COGs, process fits, and intensification gains
- Optimize downstream purification unit operations using experimentation and modeling approaches and identifying avenues for process characterization acceleration
- Design and execute process development and characterization activities. Highly independent and productive in performing laboratory experimentation.
- Play a key role in deeply understanding downstream unit operations to build a deep scientific understanding of existing platform processes and impact on manufacturability
- Exhibit a strong motivation to implement and advance various innovative technologies in relevant areas across AbbVie (such as AI, automation, and digital transformation)
- Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research/development activities. Act as primary author of publications, presentations, regulatory documents, and/or become the primary inventor of patents
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and GxP compliance
