Process Control Systems Engineer

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Our Opportunity Summary:

At Micron, we build memory and storage solutions that power the technologies changing how the world works, learns, and connects. We're looking for passionate people to join us and help grow and innovate in the semiconductor industry.

As a Process Control Systems Engineer, you'll develop, deploy, and sustain Run-to-Run (R2R) and Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) strategies. These strategies protect process stability, yield, and quality across wafer fabrication. You'll work with manufacturing, engineering, and information systems teams on site, and with counterparts worldwide.

(Disclaimer) While you may not exhibit all of the characteristics/skills listed below today, we are highly interested in a team member who is anxious to grow in both technical breadth and depth. If you are open to learning from and being a valued member of a team of top-tier engineers, we are eager to help build on your existing foundation and expand your individual and collaborative skills in this exciting and unique opportunity.

What’s Encouraged Daily:

• Partner with manufacturing and engineering customers to define control requirements and choose the right R2R and FDC solutions.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain R2R controllers and FDC strategies, including data collection, limits, and out-of-control action plans (OCAPs).
• Monitor controller and strategy performance, and use data analysis to improve existing control methods.
• Use AMAT E3 to implement strategy enhancements and bug fixes, and develop smaller R2R code modules or sub-strategies.
• Configure data collection and troubleshoot strategy, tool, system, and communication issues across Host, CIM, and Sigma.
• Investigate process variation and excursions, find root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Follow worldwide business rules and best known methods (BKMs), manage changes through change management, and document all strategies and changes.
• Deliver R2R training, share lessons learned with global teams, and lead small teams on quality and cost-improvement projects.

How To Qualify:

Shown through education, internships, research, military, manufacturing, or professional experience.

• Bachelor's degree or advanced certification in a related technical field, OR equivalent technical military experience, OR an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
• Knowledge of process control methods, including SPC, R2R, and FDC.
• Experience with data analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot software, system, and equipment communication issues.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, and experience working across functions.

What Sets You Apart:

• Hands-on experience with AMAT E3 (R2R, FDC, SPC/SPACE modules).
• Familiarity with CIM, MES, APC, and GEM/SECS systems in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with change management, BKMs, and controlled documentation in a global, multi-site environment.
• Experience leading small technical teams or projects, and delivering training to end users.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Our team vision is a continuing desire to develop your skills working in an inclusive, diverse environment of multicultural Teams across worldwide geographies!
