Safety Chief - RAMS and Systems Assurance is a senior leadership role based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, responsible for directing system safety, reliability, availability, maintainability, and assurance activities on major light rail projects. The position reports to the System Safety Manager and provides technical and people leadership to a multidisciplinary RAMS and systems assurance team.
The role oversees the development and execution of RAMS strategies, safety assurance programs, and lifecycle safety deliverables across railway infrastructure and transit projects. Responsibilities include establishing project-specific methodologies, directing hazard and reliability analyses, managing safety case development, and ensuring compliance with applicable railway safety requirements throughout design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness phases.
The ideal candidate brings more than 10 years of experience in rail transit systems, strong expertise in RAMS engineering and safety assurance, and demonstrated success leading technical specialists within complex, multidisciplinary project environments.
