AECOM is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Environmental, Safety, and Health Specialist for immediate employment to support the construction of the South Coast Water Reclamation and Reuse Facility project in Christ Church, Barbados. The project is being constructed near an environmentally sensitive RAMSAR site. The successful candidate will provide on-site inspection, monitoring, auditing, documentation to ensure Contractor’s operations align with the project environmental safeguards and project specific Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP).
This is a 24 month temporary contract position with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities include:
- Exhibit knowledge and apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in safety, health and environment.
- Supervise Contractor’s day-to-day implementation of ESMP, Contractor’s ESMP (C-ESMP), HSE and related environmental plans.
- Conduct site inspections for measures for erosion/sediment controls, dust/noise suppression, wastewater management, spill prevention, hazardous materials management, waste segregation/disposal, traffic management, biodiversity protection, and rehabilitation.
- Identify emerging environmental risks.
- Identify safety, health and environmental violations and issue notices for corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams to resolve issues.
- Review Contractor’s submittals (JSEA etc.) for compliance with contract requirements.
- Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to the AECOM project team.
- Maintain logs and registers for accidents, incidents, violations and nonconformances
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly monitoring & inspection reports summaries for the Client
