We are looking for an experienced policy and economics specialist who wants to shape the regulatory and economic direction of the aviation industry. Our clients include ANSPs, airports, airlines, governments, regulators and European institutions, so the work you lead will be varied, high-profile and often at the centre of ATM and infrastructure policy debates.
You may come from a consultancy, a regulator, an ANSP, an airport, an airline or an industry body, bringing knowledge of the European and/or UK aviation policy landscape. However, as our work at Egis spans many sectors other than aviation, we’re very open to applicants with economic, regulatory and policy experience stemming from other transport and infrastructure sectors. What matters is that you combine strong economic and regulatory expertise with a strategic mindset and the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear analysis.
This role will involve advising clients on the questions that define the sector: how ANSPs and airports are regulated, charged and incentivised, how airspace and capacity policy is set, and how economic, environmental and geopolitical pressures are reshaping the industry.
As a Senior Aviation Policy & Economics Consultant you will play a key role in engagements from start to finish, manage multi-skilled project teams, and act as the trusted point of contact for senior client stakeholders. You will also play a central role in growing the consultancy practice: building relationships, shaping proposals and winning new work, and raising our profile through thought leadership and participation in industry forums.
As our clients are based across Europe and beyond, the role offers regular travel for face-to-face client engagement, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The consultancy environment can be fast-paced, with opportunities emerging at short notice, particularly around regulatory cycles and policy consultations. You'll need a flexible, agile approach and the judgement to deliver excellent work under pressure. We have a flat, collegiate structure in which senior staff work closely with their teams and have a genuine say in the direction of the business.
We work hard, but we understand the benefits to our staff, our clients and ourselves that a healthy work-life balance brings. We provide a professional, friendly and supportive working environment, supported by our technology, to enable flexible working whether in the office, from home or on the move. In addition to valuing family life, we have an active in-house social programme catering for a range of interests.
