We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Inspector – Wet Utilities to join our infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi, with relevant experience in wet utilities and infrastructure construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and monitor wet utility construction works, including stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, and associated networks.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
- Inspect the installation of pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, drainage structures, chambers, and associated works.
- Inspect sewerage, potable water, irrigation, and stormwater networks and related structures as required.
- Review and verify Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the Contractor and ensure works are ready for inspection.
- Monitor the quality of materials, workmanship, installation, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and protection of wet utility networks.
- Witness and inspect testing activities, including pressure testing, leakage testing, CCTV inspection, and other applicable tests.
- Verify line, level, alignment, slopes, and invert levels of pipelines and associated structures.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Identify defective or non-compliant works and coordinate with the Engineer and Contractor for corrective actions.
- Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with surveyors and other disciplines to ensure correct setting out, levels, and alignment.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, site activities, testing, and quality-related issues.
- Participate in site meetings and coordination activities as required.
- Support the Engineer in monitoring construction progress and quality of the works.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are followed during site activities.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in wet utilities and infrastructure construction.
- Good knowledge of stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation networks, and associated infrastructure works.
- Experience in inspecting pipelines, manholes, drainage structures, chambers, and associated infrastructure works.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
- Experience working with Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication and coordination skills.
