Duties

• Perform high-speed cell sorting on behalf of biomedical researchers using instruments such as the BD FACSAria Fusion, BD FACSymphony S6, and Sony MA900 in a Containment Level 2 laboratory.
• Support the operation and maintenance of analytical flow cytometers, including the LSRFortessa, FACSymphony A3, and FACSymphony A5 SE.
• Perform routine instrument quality control and maintenance, including daily calibration, fluidics and electronics checks
• Train graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, research technologists, and other facility users in the safe and effective operation of analytical flow cytometers.
• Provide guidance and training in flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo and other specialized software packages.
• Provide technical support to facility users, including experimental guidance and instrument troubleshooting, while fostering effective relationships with researchers and other clients.
• Support facility operations by maintaining safe laboratory practices, evaluating new and alternative cytometry techniques, and ensuring appropriate backup and management of facility data.
