What your day might look like:
- The R&D Intern participates in laboratory analysis and pilot plant data acquisition for various types of evaporation and crystallization processes.
- As part of the Research & Development team, you will work with Research Engineers and Research Chemists executing experimental protocols, meeting quality and schedule goals, and ensuring research objectives are achieved.
- You will work on projects from the initial concept phase, through laboratory testing, data analysis, and protocol development.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Laboratory Support: Assist Research Engineers and Research Chemists in conducting laboratory analysis and pilot plant data acquisition for evaporation and crystallization processes
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and maintain laboratory testing equipment, ensuring proper operation and data integrity
- Data Collection & Analysis: Obtain, organize, and analyze experimental data
- Engineering Calculations: Perform engineering design calculations related to research findings and process optimization under the guidance of experienced Research Engineers
- Protocol Development: Assist in developing, documenting, and validating laboratory test protocols and standard operating procedures
- Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, project records, and technical documentation
- Quality Assurance: Validate that all experimental data, test results, and technical documentation are completely and accurately recorded and consistent
- Team Collaboration: Communicate findings and observations effectively with Research Engineers, Research Chemists, and cross-functional teams through written reports and verbal updates
- Project Support: Assist with project issue resolution related to experimental design, testing, and data interpretation
- General Support: Assist with additional research-related tasks as assigned
