POSITION SUMMARY:
The Overnight Front Desk associate is responsible for ensuring property safety and security while assisting our guests with genuine hospitality. This person will protect company assets and reduce guest personal safety risks in accordance with resort and department standards. This person will also learn and perform basic procedures of Front Desk operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Register guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests whenever possible. Prepares key packets and registration cards and includes all materials to be distributed at check-in.
Process incident reports for all accidents and injuries on property.
Process key sign-in and sign-out requests via our inventory control system.
Process lost and found intake and return according to established policies and procedures, using proper mail, packaging, and message handling procedures.
Conducts property patrols as outlined by Big Cedar Lodge Safety & Security department.
Handles safety deposit boxes in accordance with property procedure.
Maintains a high level of cleanliness in front desk area and lobby.
Serves as an ambassador to the Big Cedar Lodge Safety & Security Department, interacting with guests and providing genuine hospitality in every interaction.
Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor, and reputation.
Develops a thorough knowledge of the room types, rates, packages and booking procedures.
Knowledge of, adhering to, promoting, and enforcing all policies and procedures of Big Cedar Lodge.
Provides quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
Proactively maintain the skills required to perform job duties.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Excellent written & verbal communication with strong analytical skills.
Ability to follow instructions as directed and work with a sense of urgency.
Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on total guest satisfaction.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills; be able to identify and resolve problems promptly, gather and analyze information objectively, use reasoning even when handling emotional situations.
Able to work flexible schedules as needed for a 7-day operation.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel to Big Cedar Lodge for job training may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
