We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with a strong software development mindset to help build, maintain, and evolve our infrastructure automation platform.
In this role, you will develop scalable automation solutions that manage and orchestrate large Linux environments. Rather than manually operating systems, you will focus on creating reusable automation, APIs, workflows, and tooling that enable operational excellence at scale.
You will work within a collaborative engineering team, applying modern development practices to infrastructure management, leveraging technologies such as Ansible, Python, GitLab CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
What You'll Do
Design and Develop Automation Solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and self-service platforms for infrastructure management.
- Create reusable Ansible roles, playbooks, Python modules, and automation libraries.
- Build robust APIs, integrations, and workflows connecting infrastructure and enterprise platforms.
- Apply software engineering best practices including version control, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
Build Platform Capabilities
- Develop solutions that automate provisioning, patching, configuration management, compliance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Reduce operational effort through automation-first approaches.
- Improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability of infrastructure services.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal automation products and services.
Engineering Excellence
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for automation components.
- Participate in architectural discussions and technology roadmaps.
- Drive continuous improvement through refactoring and modernization initiatives.
Support and Reliability
- Provide expert-level support for automation platforms and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Improve operational processes through automation and engineering solutions.
- Participate in incident analysis and post-mortem activities.
Collaboration
- Work closely with platform engineers, architects, developers, security experts, and operations teams.
- Contribute to agile delivery practices and technical decision-making.
- Mentor colleagues and promote engineering standards across the team.
- Share knowledge through technical presentations, documentation, and code reviews.
