Provide expert technical guidance and supervision for quality assurance and material control for highway construction projects.
Develop, review, and monitor the implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality management systems.
Review and approve, as applicable, material sources, material specifications, mix designs, method statements, and quality control procedures submitted by the Contractor.
Supervise and monitor laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including soil, aggregates, cement, concrete, bituminous materials, and other highway construction materials.
Ensure that all materials and construction works comply with MoRTH/NHAI specifications, IRC codes, BIS standards, approved project specifications, and contractual requirements.
Monitor construction quality through site inspections, testing, sampling, quality audits, and verification of test results, and identify deviations and non-conformities.
Advise on appropriate corrective and preventive measures for defective works, material failures, non-conformities, and quality-related issues.
Assess and recommend suitable sources of construction materials, including borrow areas, quarries, aggregates, and other material sources, based on technical suitability and test results.
Maintain and review quality records, laboratory reports, test registers, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and material approval records, and provide inputs for periodic progress reports.
Coordinate with the Client, Team Leader/Project Manager, Contractor, laboratory personnel, and other technical specialists to resolve quality and material-related issues and ensure satisfactory project execution.
