The Spa Therapist reports to the Spa Manager and is responsible for delivering exceptional spa experiences to guests through a variety of treatments in a luxurious and relaxing environment. This role plays a key part in enhancing guest satisfaction, promoting spa services, and ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Greet every guest with genuine warmth and create a calm, welcoming environment that embodies Fairmont’s luxury hospitality standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-treatment consultations to understand guest needs, preferences, health history, and desired outcomes, customizing each experience accordingly.
- Deliver exceptional spa treatments — including a range of massage modalities (Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, hot stone, sports, prenatal, and reflexology), facials, body wraps, scrubs, and specialty therapies — with technical excellence, professionalism, and a personalized touch.
- Educate guests on treatments and recommend complementary spa products and services to enhance and extend their experience.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs with discretion, care, and a proactive service mindset, ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting positive impression.
Treatment Room & Equipment Management
- Prepare treatment rooms meticulously, ensuring all equipment, linens, products, and ambient elements (lighting, music, temperature) create a seamless and luxurious environment.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in treatment areas at all times, in full compliance with spa and hotel safety protocols.
- Clean, sanitize, and properly store tools, equipment, and products after every treatment, reporting any maintenance or inventory needs promptly.
Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, confidential guest treatment records, documenting services provided, observations, and recommendations for future visits.
- Communicate guest feedback, concerns, or any operational issues to the Spa Manager in a timely and professional manner.
Sales & Promotion
- Actively promote spa services, packages, membership offerings, and seasonal specials in a natural, guest-focused way.
- Support retail and treatment upselling opportunities where appropriate, helping guests discover products and experiences that align with their wellness goals.
Professional Development & Teamwork
- Participate fully in ongoing training, product knowledge sessions, and professional development to stay current with techniques, trends, and Fairmont brand standards.
- Collaborate seamlessly with spa colleagues and other hotel teams to deliver a cohesive, elevated guest journey from arrival through departure.
