Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Camp Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Kids Explorer Camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for all participating children. This role leads activity programming—including arts and crafts, games, sports, storytelling, free play, and themed adventures—while ensuring exceptional supervision and premium guest service. The Camp Supervisor plays a key role in creating memorable family experiences that reflect Fairmont’s luxury standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest & Child Experience
- Warmly welcome children and families, ensuring a friendly, secure, and inclusive environment.
- Supervise children at all times during games, arts and crafts, free play, indoor/outdoor activities, and structured programming, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Facilitate fun, age‑appropriate activities that foster creativity, social interaction, and exploration.
- Build positive relationships with children, encouraging participation, confidence, and enjoyment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding schedules, child needs, and daily highlights.
Program Planning & Activity Leadership
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver daily activity schedules that include arts and crafts, nature exploration, sports, team games, themed adventures, storytelling, and quiet‑time activities.
- Prepare materials, equipment, and activity stations ahead of each session.
- Adapt activities to suit group size, ages, abilities, interests, weather conditions, and operational needs.
- Lead special programming for holidays, themed resort weeks, or family events.
Safety, Supervision & Compliance
- Provide active supervision at all times—maintaining line of sight, appropriate ratios, and safety awareness during both indoor and outdoor play.
- Ensure all camp areas, toys, supplies, and equipment are safe, clean, and hazard‑free.
- Follow the resort’s child safeguarding policies, emergency procedures, and incident‑reporting protocols.
- Oversee secure check‑in/check‑out procedures to ensure accurate tracking of all participants.
Facility & Resource Management
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming camp environment throughout the day.
- Manage inventory of craft supplies, toys, sports equipment, and snacks; report or request replenishment as needed.
- Set up and break down all activity areas daily, ensuring smooth transitions between sessions.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Supervise Camp Attendants or seasonal recreation staff, providing coaching, direction, and hands-on support.
- Conduct daily team briefings to review schedules, safety guidelines, and activity plans.
- Collaborate with Recreation, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless operations.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete daily attendance logs, incident reports, safety checklists, and program records accurately and on time.
- Maintain documentation related to inventory, guest feedback, and program development.
- Support the Recreation Manager in enhancing programming, evaluating guest satisfaction, and improving camp offerings.
