The Guest Service Supervisor reports to the Guest Service Manager and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Guest Services team. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering seamless, anticipatory, and luxury-level service throughout the guest journey. The Guest Service Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to the Guest Services Agents, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest satisfaction, and adherence to Fairmont brand standards, while supporting the Guest Service Manager in staff development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Service Excellence
Oversee daily operations of the Guest Services department, including check-in/check-out, concierge services, guest inquiries, and issue resolution.
Ensure all guest interactions reflect Fairmont luxury brand standards and exceed guest expectations.
Maintain a strong presence in the lobby and public areas, assisting agents and engaging with guests during peak periods.
Monitor operational workflows, SOPs, and LSOPs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and service excellence.
Assist in managing reservations, room allocations, and pre-arrival preparations to ensure smooth operations.
Support emergency, safety, and security protocols, including monitoring fire panels and responding to alerts.
Team Supervision & Development
Supervise, mentor, and coach Guest Services Agents to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Assist in scheduling and staffing to ensure proper coverage and smooth operation of all shifts.
Lead training sessions and provide ongoing feedback to support team development and performance improvement.
Act as the first point of escalation for guest or operational issues, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff engagement initiatives in coordination with the Guest Service Manager and People & Culture.
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
Champion guest-focused initiatives to enhance satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement.
Handle guest concerns or service recovery situations with professionalism, empathy, and solutions-focused communication.
Monitor guest feedback trends and work with the team to implement corrective or improvement measures.
Lead VIP and special-attention guest management during shifts, ensuring personalized and seamless experiences.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Partner with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Leisure & Recreation to resolve guest issues efficiently.
Ensure effective communication between Guest Services and other departments to deliver a seamless, coordinated guest experience.
Participate in operational meetings and service improvement workshops to support departmental goals.
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
Assist in monitoring departmental metrics, including guest satisfaction scores, operational performance, and productivity.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and enhanced guest experiences.
Support the Guest Service Manager in implementing digital tools, systems, and operational enhancements.
Other Responsibilities
Perform any other duties as assigned to support the Guest Services department and ensure smooth daily operations.
