The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead sales and account growth across assigned customers in the upstream oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on production chemicals and related solutions. Partnering closely with the Sales Director, this individual will identify and secure new business, expand strategic customer relationships, and develop tailored solutions that improve operational performance and deliver measurable value. The BDM will also provide critical market intelligence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen Veolia’s competitive position and ensure successful customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Growth & Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with the Industry Vertical Leader to develop and execute the vertical market strategy, ensuring alignment of all sales activities with vertical growth goals.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities that expand Veolia’s footprint within the assigned industry segment.
- Assist in providing regular market intelligence, competitor analysis, and customer insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Support development and go-to-market campaigns, participation in industry events, and technical seminars to strengthen Veolia’s vertical positioning.
- Coordinate cross-regional or cross-business unit opportunities within the vertical to maximize Veolia’s total value proposition to customers.
- Track and report on vertical-specific KPIs, revenue pipelines, and market share growth.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Service as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnership.
- Develop relationships from FEL/PPP through release, including follow up with end users.
- Negotiate new business closure that promotes sustained revenue
Project & Contract Coordination:
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure process deliverables meet customer requirements and align with vertical technical standards.
- Administers client contracts to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction and prompt identification and client notification of scope changes
- Performs all baseline client relations duties, including preparation and presentation of progress and special reports.
- Participates in client meetings, special award programs and handles resolution of client service problems in a professional manner.
- Manage relationships between Veolia organisations and optimize Veolia opportunities.
