Supervise and Lead Housekeeping Staff:
- Act as the head of the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeping Manager.
- Supervise and lead the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness standards are upheld in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Delegate daily tasks and responsibilities to staff, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Provide training, coaching, and feedback to housekeeping staff to improve performance.
Quality Control and Inspections:
- Monitor and inspect rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to property standards.
- Address guest complaints regarding cleanliness or housekeeping services, and take immediate corrective actions.
- Conduct quality control inspections and ensure proper maintenance of guest rooms and common areas.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the management of housekeeping supplies, linens, cleaning products, and guest amenities.
- Ensure inventory is well-maintained and adequate for department operations, placing orders as necessary.
- Track and report on inventory usage and wastage to ensure cost-effective practices.
Guest Services and Coordination:
- Ensure all guest requests related to housekeeping services (e.g., extra towels, room cleaning) are handled promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations, especially with front desk and maintenance teams.
- Handle special guest requests related to housekeeping and resolve any issues or complaints efficiently.
Staff Scheduling and Labor Management:
- Assist with the creation and management of housekeeping staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for shifts.
- Allocate resources based on occupancy and guest requirements, adjusting staffing levels when necessary.
- Manage labor costs by optimizing scheduling and performance.
Health, Safety, and Hygiene Compliance:
- Ensure the housekeeping team follows health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Oversee the safe usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring staff are trained in proper handling and safety protocols.
- Enforce cleanliness and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Administrative Support and Reporting:
- Assist with daily and weekly reporting, documenting departmental activities, including performance, inventory levels, and any incidents.
- Ensure that departmental budgets and expenses are monitored and remain within approved limits.
- Handle administrative duties such as maintaining records of supplies, work orders, and maintenance requests.
