Role Overview
As an Associate Director, you will provide strategic leadership across the full lifecycle of project delivery, with a strong focus on pre-contract cost planning, procurement strategy, commercial governance, and client management.
You will take ownership of major commissions, lead project teams, mentor cost management professionals, and contribute to business growth through client engagement and project delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Cost Strategy
- Lead the full lifecycle of cost management services from concept through project completion.
- Drive pre-contract cost planning, feasibility studies, benchmarking, budgeting, and cost strategy development.
- Establish cost control frameworks, project governance structures, and commercial management processes.
- Provide strategic advice on project costs, procurement approaches, risk management, and value optimisation.
- Lead value engineering and life-cycle costing initiatives.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary client interface and trusted commercial advisor.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, government agencies, consultants, and delivery partners.
- Lead stakeholder meetings, workshops, presentations, and commercial reviews.
- Support clients in making informed investment and development decisions.
Project Controls & Commercial Management
- Lead cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and post-contract commercial management.
- Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, change management, and final account settlements.
- Monitor project financial performance and manage commercial risks.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and governance frameworks.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor Cost Managers and project teams.
- Drive team performance, professional development, and succession planning.
- Manage project resources and support recruitment and team growth initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
