Warehouse & Operations Management (Approx. 50%)
- Lead, mentor, and develop the warehouse management team and hourly associates, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all daily warehouse operations to ensure KPIs for productivity, quality, and service levels are consistently met or exceeded (e.g., on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy).
- Develop and manage the annual warehouse operating budget, controlling costs and driving efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counting and physical inventories, to ensure high accuracy in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Utilize data and analytics to identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Collaborate with other departments, including transportation, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics.
Automation Project Leadership (Approx. 50%)
- Develop and execute a multi-year automation strategy and roadmap for the distribution center.
- Lead the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from initial concept and business case development to vendor selection, implementation, testing, and go-live.
- Conduct research and stay current on emerging warehouse automation technologies, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), goods-to-person systems, robotic picking, and advanced sortation.
- Prepare detailed ROI analyses and present compelling business cases to senior leadership to secure project funding and approval.
- Act as the primary point of contact for automation vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders (IT, Engineering, Finance).
- Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
- Lead change management efforts, including developing training programs and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes by the warehouse team.
