The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, achieving financial targets, maintaining brand standards, and fostering a high-performing team culture. The AGM serves as the General Manager's key operational partner and assumes leadership responsibilities in the General Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hotel Operations Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments.
Ensure effective coordination between Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Human Resources.
Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Financial Performance
Support the preparation and execution of annual budgets and business plans.
Monitor revenue performance, productivity, and operational expenses.
Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities for increased profitability.
Ensure effective cost control and resource management.
4. People Management
Lead, coach, and develop department heads and management teams.
Support recruitment, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
Foster employee engagement and a positive work environment.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and disciplinary procedures.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with brand standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Support internal and external audits.
Monitor risk management and emergency preparedness procedures.
Maintain operational excellence through continuous improvement programs.
6. Strategic Leadership
Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
Participate in business reviews, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Represent the hotel at meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements when required.
Act as General Manager during periods of absence.
