As an Expert Cost Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping competitive, sustainable, and profitable automotive products. By analyzing product costs, manufacturing technologies, and carbon footprint impacts, you will support engineering, purchasing, and business teams with data-driven insights that influence product development, sourcing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.
Your tasks:
► Performing detailed cost analyses of components, tooling and manufacturing processes across various technologies and material groups
► Identifying and evaluating cost-saving opportunities through design improvements, material selection and manufacturing optimization
► Supporting Design-to-Cost (D2C) activities by providing value-based engineering recommendations throughout the product development lifecycle
► Managing Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations and identifying opportunities to improve product sustainability and reduce CO₂ emissions
► Supporting the generation and evaluation of RPP initiatives in cooperation with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing teams
► Providing technical cost breakdowns and manufacturing expertise to support sourcing activities and supplier negotiations
► Performing should-cost analyses, competitor benchmarking and sales price evaluations to improve cost transparency and competitiveness
► Contributing to the continuous development of cost engineering methodologies, tools and knowledge sharing across the organization
