AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in a full-time role based out of any AECOM office across Canada.
In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of projects involving hydroelectric generating stations, pumped-storage hydropower facilities, dams, and hydraulic structures. You may also collaborate with other business lines on multidisciplinary projects related to port infrastructure, transportation structures, and environmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead and take ownership of discipline-specific assignments, coordinating engineering professionals and technical teams involved in project delivery.
- Prepare and author technical reports and calculation packages for a variety of projects, including hydraulic studies and analyses, energy production simulations, transient flow analyses, and dam safety assessments.
- Carry out feasibility studies, preliminary design, and detailed engineering for hydropower developments and pumped storage facilities (powerhouses, dams, spillways, diversion structures, etc.), as well as, on occasion, other hydraulic infrastructure such as canals and bridges.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrodynamic numerical modelling, including dam breach analyses using 1D, 2D, and 3D models.
- Conduct quality reviews of technical studies prepared by team members and provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers.
