Role Purpose
Lead Singapore statutory accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and timely statutory and tax-related deliverables. The role serves as a trusted finance partner and subject-matter expert, connecting affiliates, Financial Shared Services, BPO, external auditors, tax partners and regional stakeholders while driving standardization, automation and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Singapore Statutory, Audit and Compliance
- Lead the preparation and review of Singapore statutory financial statements, including notes and supporting schedules, in accordance with applicable local requirements.
- Own the reconciliation between US GAAP and local statutory ledgers, identify required local GAAP and disclosure adjustments, and maintain complete audit-ready support.
- Plan and coordinate the statutory audit with external auditors, service providers and internal departments, including the audit timetable, deliverables, issue log, escalation protocol and progress reporting.
- Manage the statutory compliance calendar and drive timely completion of financial statement filing, statistical reporting and other assigned local submissions.
- Partner with Tax and third-party providers on tax provision support, income tax return inputs, tax payment tracking, return-to-ledger reconciliations and posting of required adjustments.
- Document local statutory requirements through clear standard operating procedures, process maps, checklists and transition materials; maintain business continuity and effective knowledge transfer.
- Monitor changes in local accounting and reporting requirements, assess process impacts and coordinate implementation with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and drive remediation of identified control gaps.
Regional Statutory Coordinator
- Coordinate statutory reporting, audit and filing activities across JAPAC entities, ensuring alignment with corporate Audit/Tax requirements and local regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison between affiliates and external auditors for regional statutory matters, such as group audit (EY/SOX).
- Monitor key statutory reporting milestones, compliance requirements and filing deadlines, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
- Support standardization and continuous improvement of statutory processes, documentation and governance across the region.
