Shape the future of automotive connectivity - Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) are set to become a cornerstone of the upcoming 6G mobile communication standard. By extending the reach of terrestrial networks, they enable ubiquitous and resilient communication and will play a key role in next-generation vehicle communication units, ensuring seamless and robust connectivity for the automotive future.
- As a PhD candidate with us, you will conduct intensive research on future satellite-to-vehicle communication solutions based on innovative 6G networks.
- You will develop and implement advanced algorithms for handover mechanisms between terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks in order to ensure continuous and reliable connectivity for vehicles.
- To validate your concepts, you will create meaningful simulations or implement prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of your ideas.
- You will actively contribute your research results to ongoing 3GPP studies and working groups, with the aim of filing patents and integrating your contributions into future releases.
- As part of the publicly funded project "6G-Coverage", you will work closely with universities and partner companies and network with leading experts.
- Last but not least you will collaborate with your supervising professor, publish scientific articles, present your findings at international specialist conferences, and write your dissertation.
