POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Security Management team, the Life Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of all guests and colleagues within the pool and beach areas. The role requires constant vigilance, strong swimming ability, excellent guest service skills, and full compliance with Rixos standards, health & safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safety & Pool/Beach Operations
- Ensure safe daily operations at all pool and beach areas in compliance with hotel safety, health, and fire prevention policies.
- Monitor guest activities at all times and enforce pool and beach rules and regulations.
- Respond immediately and effectively to emergencies, accidents, or swimming difficulties.
- Follow Emergency & Rescue Procedures and provide first aid and lifesaving support when required.
- Conduct daily checks of all lifesaving equipment and ensure correct placement and readiness.
2. Water Quality & Area Maintenance
- Maintain and record daily chlorine and pH levels according to schedule.
- Report any irregularities in water clarity, chemical levels, or pool temperature immediately.
- Ensure pool, beach, and surrounding guest areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Identify and report maintenance issues promptly to the relevant department.
3. Guest Service Excellence
- Greet guests politely and provide friendly, professional, and attentive service at all times.
- Assist guests with inquiries related to pool, beach, and recreational facilities.
- Handle guest complaints, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Support recreation and entertainment activities when required.
4. Compliance & Standards
- Fully comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and local legal requirements.
- Adhere to ISO Integrated Management Systems including Quality, Environment, Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Customer Complaint Handling.
- Maintain proper grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards at all times.
- Follow Lost & Found procedures and report any suspicious behavior or unsafe conditions immediately.
5. Teamwork & Training
- Attend all required training sessions, departmental meetings, and drills.
- Work closely with Security, Housekeeping, Engineering, Recreation, and other departments.
- Report training needs and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
