Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Engineer with experience managing the financial and cost reporting aspects of large-scale construction projects or programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading teams and delivering cost management solutions on complex capital projects.
This role will support a major capital program based in Houston, Texas, providing cost engineering, forecasting, financial reporting, and project controls support across large-scale EPC projects. The successful candidate will partner closely with project leadership and key stakeholders to drive effective cost performance and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development and implementation of cost reporting strategies for major construction projects.
- Providing specialist technical cost engineering advice to private sector clients across a variety of construction contracts.
- Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitoring project costs and ensuring they align with the approved budget.
- Conducting financial analysis and reporting on project performance.
- Supporting project billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and industry best practices (AACE).
- Building positive relationships within the project team and with client personnel and their key advisors.
- Managing and updating internal financial trackers and supporting the financial capability of the project services function.
- Supporting the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
- Supporting data visualization and reporting via digital dashboard and automation tools.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role and are to be adhered to where applicable.
Project/Program specific responsibilities:
- Market sector experience: Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Utilities, or other heavy industrial sectors required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects or programs valued at $1B+.
- Experience with SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, and Power Automate required.
- AACE membership or certification, or similar professional credentials, preferred.
