1. Mechanical Design & Precision Engineering
- Precision Product Design: Define product layouts and control assemblies; design high-precision mechanical components and assemblies using Pro-Engineer (Creo) 3D modeling and 2D drafting according to professional standards.
- Calibration & Fixture Development: Design sophisticated fixtures and calibration processes tailored for high-precision mechanical assemblies.
- Engineering Verification: Conduct independent mechanical analysis using scientific and mathematical approaches (including Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, FEM/CAE simulations, DOE, and physical prototyping) to validate design performance.
2. Design Review Leadership & Plastic Expertise
- Design Review Leadership: Lead rigorous, comprehensive mechanical design reviews across project gates to ensure structural integrity, high precision, and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Expertise in plastic design: Serve as the in-house technical authority on plastic material selection, part design, tooling architecture, and injection molding process optimization for high-precision tools.
- Root Cause & Defect Analysis: Take initiative in leading problem-solving activities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, with a strong focus on plastic component defects and structural failures.
- Technical Mentorship: Act as a mentor for mechanical engineers, sharing best practices in plastic DOM, tooling design, and systematic design review methods.
3. Cross-Functional Execution & Production Support
- Project Ownership (TTM): Serve as the primary Mechanical Engineering representative within cross-functional project teams, taking co-ownership of Time-To-Market (TTM), project progress, quality standards, and BOM cost control.
- Documentation & Compliance: Create and maintain robust engineering documentation required for gate approval reviews (BOM, component specs, DFMEA, test reports) and support product compliance certification.
- Supplier & Production Support: Qualify first-article samples from suppliers, participate in pilot production runs, and support series production by resolving mass production "pop-up" issues and driving manufacturing KPI improvements.
