Position Overview
The Kitchen & Laundry Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and optimal operation of all kitchen and laundry equipment throughout the resort. Working under the guidance of the Engineering leadership, this role ensures that all related mechanical and electrical systems function efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Rixos brand standards, supporting seamless operations and an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations & Maintenance
- Execute all mechanical, electrical, and associated maintenance work for kitchen and laundry equipment to the highest professional standards.
- Diagnose technical issues and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or operational concerns.
- Perform assigned tasks independently while ensuring full compliance with engineering procedures and safety standards.
- Ensure timely completion of daily tasks and maintenance schedules.
Equipment, Inventory & Workshop Management
- Monitor and control spare parts, tools, and consumables within the workshop.
- Raise requisitions and ensure adequate stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition at all times.
Operational Support & Coordination
- Act immediately on issues and concerns related to kitchen and laundry operations.
- Support guest requirements related to equipment functionality when required.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering colleagues and other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with Task Force Teams during new openings or special operational projects.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by Engineering leadership.
Safety, Emergency & Compliance
- Be fully familiar with the hotel’s emergency procedures and remain prepared to respond effectively to any emergency situations.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Adhere strictly to Rixos Engineering Policies & Procedures and Operational Standards Manuals.
ISO Integrated Management System (IMS) Compliance
- Comply with all ISO Integrated Management System requirements, including:
- Quality Management (ISO 9001)
- Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
- Food Safety Management (ISO 22000)
- Customer Complaint Handling (ISO 10002)
- Actively participate in:
- Risk management and safety programs
- Environmental impact assessments
- Pollution prevention initiatives
- Energy and water conservation efforts
- Continuous improvement and guest satisfaction initiatives
